La Aurora 107

ed. note: Sorry for the lack of a picture but had this in the shop and no camera. My Bad!

If you remember, we had a previous post about this new series, the La Aurora 107, because it's their first true attempt at a fuller bodied cigar. I got to give this a try at a local shop during their big marketing campaign on April 30th and was very excited to give it a try. Based on the previous La Aurora's I have tried and reviewed this should be a knock out. And a knock out is almost what I got...

Check the review after the break!

Tasting Notes:
La Aurora 107 starts out strong with a full kick of pepper and spice to the face. This not only grab's your attention but beats it into submission like a 4th grader trying to take on Chuck Norris. After a minute or two, though, it mellows out considerably. Not to say it get's into a medium or mild category but just that there is less pepper and spice...plus this allows you to orient yourself again in case you fell out of your chair. There are still hints of spice on the tongue (or maybe it's just leftover from the initial uppercut) but it's followed by a touch of toasted wood. The finish is not overly complex as it's a pretty straightforward cigar which was a little disappointing to me based on their other products but I'll cut them a little slack since it's their first attempt. Because it's so straightforward, however, you definitely get some fairly big doses of nicotine and I'm not ashamed to admit I was feeling a little buzzed by the end of this stick.

Based on the aforementioned I would recommend this to a veteran smoker or someone who likes full-bodied yet simple cigars. The taste of tobacco rings clear and true so if you are expecting anything else you should look elsewhere because you're not going to find it here. I had the opportunity to pick up more of these but declined because this is not my particular flavor profile.

Rating: 88
